Sponsered Hajj for Converts

Al-Rashid Mosque (Canadian Islamic Center) is pleased to invite all Muslim reverts in Edmonton to submit their names for Hajj draw 2009. Hajj is expected to fall between November 25-30, 2009. Four individuals will be selected (4 seats available only). Draw will happen this Thursday September 24th, 2009, at 8:00pm. Selected names will be informed on Friday, September 25th. Please send your name immediately. Kindly inform/invite your friends to submit their names.

Unfortunately the Hajj agency for this deal strictly requires that each selected sister be accompanied by a Mahram (Any man with whom a woman has a relationship (of blood or fosterage) that precludes marriage, is considered a Mahram to her). At this time, the Al-Rashid Mosque cannot afford to pay for the sister’s Mahram. So when a sister is selected for Hajj, her Mahram will have to arrange himself for his own hajj expenses unless their names are both picked in the draw. Shaykh Maher (Imam of the Al-Rashid Mosque) will do the draw.
